Mia is a highly-skilled and experienced retoucher with over 25 years experience in the industry. Born in Melbourne to an artistic family, Mia discovered her passion for photography at a very early age, enrolling in a night-time photography course at university at age 14. She quickly developed her technical skills, expansive talent and unique style.

After graduating at the early age of 16, Mia decided to travel Europe and joined the circus. Her international experiences have provided her with unique insight into global beauty trends and fashion. She returned briefly to Australia, then relocated to Japan where she lived for over six years. During this time, she fell in love again with all things related to computers and the arts, and developed a specific focus on web and graphic design. Working with Photoshop since 1995, her career as an expert retoucher had begun unbeknownst to her.

Making the hard decision to draw back on working with high profile clients as an Art and Creative Director to extend her family, Mia decided to take the part of her job she loved the most and could do from home —retouching. She has now been working full-time as a retoucher for over ten years and has since established a renowned reputation for precision transformations and attention to acute eye for detail. Mia’s expert approach is deployed around the globe to breathe new life into a multitude of fashion, hair and beauty campaigns. A chest-thumping bond with fashion and all things visual has enabled Östberg to collaborate with a progressive group of photographers, stylists and makeup artists.

Mia has worked with clients/campaigns/magazines/celebrities/ such as L’Oreal, Schwarzkopf, Revlon, Garnier, Maybelline, John Frieda, Pantene, Le Tan, Napolean, Canon, Puma, Harrolds, The Australian Ballet, MYER, Ojay, Mimco, Mambo, Novo, Harpers Bazaar, Vogue, Marie Claire, Cosmopolitan, Russh, Madison, Cleo, Frankie, Elle, InStyle, Guy Pearce, Miranda Kerr, The Kardashians, Ruby Rose, Delta Goodram, Linsay Lohan, Helena Christenson, Jason Stratham.
